Christmas at Kid Castle

0 °F

Here's some pics of us celebrating Christmas at Kid Castle. The kids and us had a lot of fun. Santa visited all the classes and did a present exchange with the kids. We also made an Advent calender with the kids. (A secular Advent calender, the kids had no idea it was originally a Christian thing. They just enjoyed coloring 25 pictures and gluing them haphazardly to posterboard.)

In Shanghai, bunny ears are also a part of Christmas.

I love the vChristmas bunny.

You'll never believe this. I was just at the White House for the 2007 Coming Up Taller Awards (http://www.cominguptaller.org/)and this year the China Welfare Institute Children's Palace of Shanghai was recognized by the President's Commission on the Arts and Humanities (PCAH) for its "Little Companion Art Troupe." The Minister of Culture, Sun Jiazheng, was there two rows in front of me. Later, the President's dogs Miss Beazley and Barney, passed me in the coat room.
