Linkin Park Show

.............and the midterm the next morning

Last night we went to see one of our favorite bands, Linkin Park, at Hongkou Football Stadium. It was very close to one of the campus's I teach at. We had been inside before when we watched the US women's soccer team play Nigeria.

This was our first concert in China. There were a few differences between concerts here and concerts in the states. For one - instead of bouncers guarding the stage, there were about 100 chinese soldiers standing in a straight line, in full military attire (not BDU's, but the formal wear). The second difference was that there was no "mosh pit area" to stand.

After the show there was mass chaos - imagine 20,000 people all looking for taxi's at once because the trains were not running after the show was finished. A mile and one hour later, we eventually got one.

with hit bands, broadway shows, and other western influence, Shanghai is starting to resemble Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Seoul more and more.

Today I had my mid-term exam. It was a good thing I had been studying for weeks, because it was one of the tough.

Amazing. Thanks for this post. I went to the Linkin park site and they have a lot of great video for the OZ and NZ leg of the tour.

Hey - we're going to celebrate Thanskgiving in NYC with Hatties as you know - and she invited Akio too!

Great Blog, son! I'm just back from up north hunting the elusive whitetail (bagged a nice size one actually and all day I've been making Italian Sausauge) and I just logged on to see your nice blog. You misplelled Lincoln Park, which is undoubtedly taken from the city in Illinois near Chicago (there's also one in Michigan). Last night when we got back we went out to eat with Baba and Jiji, to the grocery store at Meijers, and then to pick up Baron at the kennel. The girl said "oh he's the greatest -- always the friendliest and prettiest dog. I like German shepherds, and this weekend at the kennel there were 5 of them here, Baron and four females, and except for Baron they were all psycho!" Back to the subject of China, your experiences have been great and your blogs, pictures and videos have been jusst wonderful!
